Bowel cancer (colon)

Our best selling test
FOB test for bowel cancer and polyps
The FOB test is an effective screening test designed to detect tiny amounts of blood in the faeces that may be due to a cancer or polyp in the colon. Early detection of cancers and polyps by this type of screening means they are more easily treated. We recommend an FOB test that is specific for human blood and will not give a false result due to red meat in the diet. This  test is current 'state of the art' and available direct to you. The simple test kit is posted to you on request. After taking the sample, you return it to us by post and the result will be ready for you within 72 hours. There is no need to visit your doctor.

If you have any of the following conditions the test can be falsely positive and you should think carefully before deciding whether to take the test; 'active' haemorrhoids (piles), inflammatory diseases of the colon including diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin can cause intestinal bleeding so if you wish to suspend your medication prior to taking the test you should check with your doctor.
